Welcome to the official website for the Hubble Ultra Deep Field 2012 (UDF12). The UDF12 is a survey with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) to take the deepest ever image of the sky. The UDF12 program uses the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), originally installed on HST in 2009, to take images of the sky in infrared light. The WFC3 instrument enables UDF12 to peer deeper and farther than ever before.

This new image of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, acquired by the UDF12 using the infrared Wide Field Camera 3 on HST, is the deepest ever image of the sky at these wavelengths. Building on previous observations, these new data enable us to peer deeper and further than ever before.
